Learn to use the tools of PhotoShop for working with images. You will learn how to select parts of images, and move, duplicate, and resize images. Discussion will show you how to use layers and apply layer effects, and how to use filters to create special effects, including lighting and texture effects. You will be introduced to painting tools and blending modes to create shading effects, and you will perform adjustments to contrast and color balance. You will learn to save images in formats for print and Web use.
Adobe® Photoshop® Level 1 is intended for a diverse audience including computer-savvy professionals who want to create and enhance graphics for marketing materials, newsletters, blogs, and Websites; photographers who want to prepare photos for print or Web; students with an interest in graphic design or those with novice design skills; and professionals who want to use Photoshop as a complement to other programs such as Illustrator.
To ensure your success in your course, you should have a basic comfort level with digital photography. For example, you have used a digital camera and have downloaded images to your computer or other storage device.
You should also have basic computer skills and understand how to launch an application, browse to locate and open files, and can navigate to on-screen elements using a mouse or other navigational devices.
